In connection with the information spread in the media about the hacking of Right Line, the largest provider of software in the field of online banking, whose partners include banks in Kyrgyzstan, the State Agency for Personal Data Protection under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic sent requests to the affected banks of Kyrgyzstan.

In order to protect against potential risks of draining personal data of citizens, the State Agency requested detailed information about the possible leakage of personal data of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as measures taken by banks in connection with the incident. This work is carried out in compliance with the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Personal Information" and within the framework of the Agency's core activities.

The State Agency for the Protection of Personal Data asks citizens to be vigilant when handling their personal data. Do not transfer bank details, be careful when shopping online, do not open suspicious messages and do not install unknown applications on your computer and mobile phone. The state Agency conducts extensive information and educational work. Educational materials are presented on social networks and on the Agency's website. We remind you that the State Agency for the Protection of Personal Data under the Cabinet of Ministers began functioning on January 10, 2022. The main activities are to ensure control over the compliance of personal data processing with the requirements of the legislation of the country and the protection of the rights of personal data subjects provided for by the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic.
